June 9 - Huaraz to Lima to Chiclayo

Since we began planning this trip we have been a little concerned about how we were going to get out of Huaraz in time to continue our trip. The solution seemed to be to flying but the only choice was LC Busre. Who had ever heard of this airline and why the strange name?

Busre also warned us that we couldn´t fly with more that 10 kilos of baggage because of the size of the plane and the altitude at which it had to take off. We dutifully repacked our bags before coming up to Huaraz, leaving the heavy stuff back in Lima.

We found that we had been overly nervous and we enjoyed a comfortable 45 minute flight from beautifully clear skyed Callejon de Huaylas to fog shrouded Lima. We picked up our other bags and flew on to Chiclayo where tomorrow we are going to visit the tomb of the Lord of Sipan then on to the Chachapoyas area by overnight bus.

Who knows whether there will be any internet connection in the Chachapoyas area so this may be the last you will hear from us for a while.
