June 20 - Flight from Cajamarca to Lima, then on to Cusco

The flights were uneventful, first from Cajamarca to Lima and then Lima to Cusco.

We are installed in the Hotel San Blas, just two blocks from the Plaza de Armas (the central plaza).

We circled the city several times before landing . The Plaza de Armas is in the center of this photo. This is where most of the parades would take place over the coming days.

Welcome to Cusco 3,399 meters (11,000 feet). Some travelers may need a shot of oxygen as the pass through the baggage claim.

There are some things marring the landscape but mostly the city is very authentic.

The flag of the Tihuantisuyo, Quechua Nation, flys everywhere in Cusco.

The famous 12 sided stone in an Inca wall just down from the hotel.

The Jesuit church on the Plaza taken from the steps of the cathedral.
Driving on the narrow streets of Cusco can be trying.

Other modes of transport.
